Who We Are

The Egyptian Road Safety Training Center (RSTC) is the largest training establishment of its kind in Egypt, the Middle East and Africa, and one of the largest safe-driving training centers in the world by area. Founded in 2012 as a national institutional response to Egypt's road-accident crisis, the Center was built through a strategic partnership bringing together the Egyptian Tourism Federation (the project's main supervisor and funder), the Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities (the official sponsor supporting the national vision), and TTI (Test & Training International) of Austria, the world's largest institution for road-safety research and testing. The Center sits on 105 feddans (435,000 square meters) on the Autostrad Road - 15 May City, and includes 5 professional training tracks simulating real road conditions, four theory training halls equipped with the latest teaching tools, and a main conference hall seating 200 people. Since its launch through mid-2026, the Center has successfully trained more than 107,500 trainees across the transport, tourism, and petroleum sectors, as well as Egyptian labor deployed abroad, built on a "learning by doing" philosophy, specialized programs for every vehicle type, and 100% international accreditation for all trainers and tracks from TTI Austria.

Vision

Global leadership in road safety training: to be the foremost strategic partner for every transport and fleet sector in Egypt and the region, and the global model for building a culture of safe, responsible driving that protects lives and property, paving an accident-free road for future generations.

Mission

Raising the level of road safety in Egypt by integrating scientific skills and modern technology with drivers' psychological and behavioral awareness, through specialized practical training programs for every vehicle type, in line with the highest international standards accredited by TTI Austria — to reduce accident rates, protect lives and property, and deliver a genuine strategic investment in human behavior on the road.

Goals

1. Promoting road-safety awareness and culture: spreading a culture of road safety among drivers, familiarizing them with traffic laws and regulations, and embedding compliance as a genuine part of public culture. 2. Developing driving skills: scientific and practical qualification of drivers to globally sound driving standards, training them in defensive and emergency driving strategies through realistic simulation of varied road conditions. 3. Keeping pace with technology and safety systems: training drivers to use modern navigation systems and advanced vehicle safety systems, including braking technologies and smart systems. 4. Psychological education and social responsibility: building self-awareness of risk and stress control while driving, and reinforcing ethical values that respect the rights of pedestrians and cyclists, and avoiding distraction while driving. 5. Reducing accidents and protecting lives: the Center's ultimate goal — lowering accident rates caused by poor road behavior and protecting lives and property in critical situations.

TM1 - Hydraulic Plate

TM1 - Hydraulic Plate

Technical information

The heart of the skidding lane in the kick plate. A hydraulic working plate, which is installed in the track, moves the rear of the crossing car to one side so that the car starts sliding - afterwards the driver shall try to get the car under control again. Different adjustment possibilities of the kick plate enable the instructor to train varying situations. In the 95m x 10m wide and with slippery surface equipped area behind the kick plate three rows of water obstacles are installed which can be switched on in varying ways.

Training information

The purpose of the slippery surface is on the one hand the simulation of a slippery road. On the other hand the slippery surface enables the participants to train potential hazard situations with a slow speed and therefore not dangerous for the vehicles and the drivers. The material for the slippery surface is polished concrete which is additionally irrigated. During the training sequence the speed of the vehicles will be measured electronically and shown on a display banner beside the road.

Training results

• Slalom driving (warm-up)/Seating position
• Emergency braking
• Brake and avoid
• Braking on different surfaces
• Stabilizing a skidding vehicle
• Distance exercise
• Braking comparison

TM3 - Hill Track

TM3 - Hill Track

Technical information

The hill track is approximately 200m long and 30,00m wide. The maximum longitudinal slope is 9%, the slope in the curve at the end of the track is about 2 – 3%. The irrigated slippery surface has a width of 8m and a total length of approximately 120m,80m straight and 40m in a right hand curve.

Training information

In the slippery surface two rows of water obstacles are installed. On this hill track it is possible to train avoiding obstacles, finding the optimum distance to stop, breaking on different surfaces, etc. always under special circumstances of driving downhill. Furthermore the start-up on slippery surfaces can be trained on this hill track.

Training results

• Slalom driving (warm up)
• Emergency braking downhill
• Brake and avoid downhill
• Braking on different surfaces
• Cornering
• Viewing and steering techniques
• Cornering line
• Under steering behavior of vehicles
• Over steering behavior of vehicles
• Emergency braking whilst cornering
• Distance exercise
• Braking whilst cornering at high friction
• Roll-over prevention
• Braking comparison

TM2 - Circular Track

TM2 - Circular Track

Technical information

The Circular track has an outer diameter of 77m; the irrigated slippery surface has a width of 10m and an outer diameter of 56m. With this track driving curves and braking in extreme situations can be trained. Because of the "transverse acceleration" when passing the circular path, the rear of the vehicle begins to swerve and the car starts skidding. Afterwards the driver has to bring the car under control again.

Training information

Three mechanical obstacles which can be switched on in various sequences are integrated in the circular track. Because of the suddenly emerge of the computer controlled obstacles the driver is forced to react immediately

Training results

• Circular slalom driving (warm up)
• Cornering
• Viewing and steering techniques
• Cornering line
• Under steering behavior of vehicles
• Oversteering behavior of vehicles
• Emergency braking whilst cornering
• Braking whilst cornering at high friction
• Roll-over prevention

TM4 - Dynamic Area

TM4 - Dynamic Area

Technical information

On the dynamic area with 285m x 30m square it is possible to practice exercises with higher speeds. The training can be done on slippery surface as well as on typical road surface. Therefore mechanical obstacles will be installed in the irrigated area with slippery surface(70m x 7m) as well as in the area with typical roa surface. The run of area is dimensioned wide enough for trainings with a speed of approx.100km/h.

Training information

Multifunctional area used to test the behavior of the vehicle on different wet surfaces and unexpected situations such as changing lane.

Training results

• Slalom driving (warm up)
• Emergency braking with higher friction (wet or dry surface)
• Brake and avoid with higher friction (wet or dry surface)
• Cornering – different types of corners
• Driving of handling tracks
• Viewing and steering techniques
• Cornering line
• Understeering behavior of vehicles
• Oversteering behavior of vehicles
• Braking whilst cornering with higher friction
• Distance exercise
• Braking comparison
• Roll-over prevention
• Fast change of lanes

TM5 - Slalom Track

TM5 - Slalom Track

Technical information

The slalom track has a total length of approximately 300m and a width of 12m. It can be used separately for Slalom and breaking exercises (slalom track and breaking track of 150 lengths each) as well as to train to avoid obstacles. Two mechanical obstacles are installed in the track.

Training information

Besides slalom driving, the training track can be used for braking exercises with higher friction. If there is ever a severe shortage of training tracks, TM 5 can be divided into two training tracks, with two groups exercising simultaneously.

Training results

• Slalom driving (warm-up)
• Emergency braking with higher friction
• Viewing and steering techniques
• Distance exercise
• Braking comparison

TM6 - Motorbike Slalom Parcours

TM6 - Motorbike Slalom Parcours

Technical information

The Motorbike slalom procures is a an asphalt area of 85m x 30m.The grip of the surface in this area is higher than on the other tracks. Paintings on the asphalt design special tracks for the training of motorbikes.

Training information

The motorcycle circles (in the orange circle) have been created for cornering training. Driving in a circle allows for training of cornering styles, viewing and steering techniques. Due to driving an "endless" corner, the driver has time to improve his cornering abilities. The motorcycle special procures (in the green circle) provide markings on the pavement for a special handling exercise. This handling exercise is done with low speed and is a perfect practice for viewing and cornering techniques, which are often needed in traffic.

Training results

• Cornering styles (leaning in and pushing)
• Direction changes
• Viewing technique
• Cornering with different radius
• Braking whilst cornering
• Handling
